Chinese New Year from Musical Mandarin

The first day of the Chinese lunisolar* calendar is always a new moon night between January 19th & February 21st. For the next two weeks, the New Year is celebrated in Chinese communities around the world. The next Chinese New Year celebrations begin on: Monday, Jan. 23, 2012; Feb. 10, 2013; Jan. 31, 2014; and Feb. 19, 2015. (*) - The Chinese calendar is lunisolar, not purely lunar like the Islamic calendar.
